A lot of people in the forums seem to ask about whats the best laptop for there student. So a article about it, especially when college students will be gearing up to go back to school. The best for them, type ect corrisponding to what they will use it for/and majors for graphic editing, video or game editing compatible. etcPerhaps as well not just "specific laptops" but more a univsersal what you should look for in a laptop for your student because things change so much make the article last longer, and be changeable for those on a budget.

Well, you could always get a new Intel-based Mac laptop (MacBook or MacBook Pro) and run both Mac OS X and Windows (including Vista) platforms on the same computer. That's pretty cool.I recommend using Parallels if you do this.http://www.parallels.com/en/products/desktop/

It's really not that hard. Unless you're in a "special" major (Engineering or Architecture, mostly). Get a laptop with wireless that does internet, is somewhat durable, has OK battery life, and office tasks and either enough space for your music + movies or an external drive. Most students don't need graphics much better than ati x1400 equivalent or so and can get by with much less. Also shouldn't cost more than $1100 bucks. Probably don't NEED more than 1.5 gigs RAM and can get by with 512 - 1024.Of course with Vista, people will probably end up feeling pressured into getting systems that are more powerful than they need or take advantage of. That said, macs are VERY popular with college students, probably because lots of them don't want to think too much about their computers.
