"half of all Verizon subscribers are likely to buy an iPhone on the carrier's network"

Yeah right, that survey is complete BS.

ATT's netwok isn't crumbling because of iPhone. It wasn't up to par in the first place. I am betting Verizon would't have the exact same problem.

I can be outdoors, with full bars and 3G signal and still I can get data access. My games that need it simply won't connect even after an hour of trying. It's horrible. I thought I would wait, but if Verizon gets an iPhone this January, I will pay to get out the contract and just add my line back to my VZW account.

ATT has millions of phones that use data. How is it iPhone an bring down the network? Is it all the apps?

Also, VZW has 80 Million and growing customers. There is no way 40 million want an iPhone. Please!

Why settle for less when verzion sells 5 phones that are far better.

I will consider an iPhone if it comes to Verizon. My Storm2 is upgradable in January and since RIM won't put the new BlackBerry 6 OS on that phone, I will move to something else. Palm Pre's future is too much in question. Android has poor support for MS Exchange calendar, so that leaves BlackBerry and iPhone. If BB OS6 comes to the Storm2 or if a new Storm3 is released (I don't like sliders) then I would likely stay with BlackBerry, otherwise I'll give iPhone a serious look.

It was estimated before that about 20M PRSENT VZW customers wanted an iphone. I am betting that number has dropped since better phones are out now.

I think the BBOS6 is to much for the slower Storms. BBOS5 was very overwhelming on the 524MHz CPU. I have the Storm as well and wanted the Storm 2 but, aftyer getting one of my Storms replaced with a Storm 2, the performance wasn't any better. BB's new phone is to me just a slider version of the Storm and the CPU is 628Mhz. I think the OS is going to make it sluggish and based on reviews, that is what they have gathered.

I ordered my iPhone 4 on June 22nd and received it July 12, 3 days before the expected date. After having it for 30 days, my only real compalint is I lost data because you can't use an ipod backup with iPhone and there is no way to really move the files from the backup and the fact the phone doesn't work so well.

I am hoping CDMA is better. For one, VZW has better bandwidth for data vs ATT. Even with full bars and a full 3G signal, many of my apps have trouble getting data. One thing I tried was to change the settings for location services by turning off all the apps that use it, so they all aren't trying to pull data at the same time. Doesn't seem to help tho.

I have never had the issues with retrieving data, or dropped calls with any phone I have ever used with VZW. I simply can't see how the USA's oldest phone company offers such poor service.

If VZW gets and iPhone, there is going to be a mass exodus from ATT at the very least.

However, for anyone considering the iPhone if it does come to VZW, I would wait. 6 mos after Jan 2011, I am sure Apple will be releasing the iPhone 5. I am also betting it will be similar in design to the iPhone 4. I am basing that off the fact Apple didn't change the original iPhone for 3 models. But at least this one will be fixed. I also don't have any idea how the antenna design will effect CDMA. But again, hopefull Apple will have fixed that and thus this won't be a huge issue. Maybe, just maybe, the CDMA phone will have been fixed already by Jan.

Umm over half? No. Apple's mobile dominance is waning in favor of Android. The newer droids are easily way better than the latest Iphone. Plus, you can hold them however you like and still not drop a call!!

I'll believe it when I see it. 18 months ago I would have jumped to the iPhone if it came to Verizon, but I'm extremely happy with my Droid/Android OS, that now I do not see a need to go to the Apple product.
More and more apps are coming to the Android OS each day, including many that were previously iPhone exclusive.

And we all know what an accurate barometer of public interest YOU are.

The problem with OS 6 on the Storm2 is RAM, not processor.

I refuse to run a Google OS or Google apps, so right now my choice on Verizon is limited to BlackBerry. I would greatly welcome an iPhone on VZW, and would very seriously consider buying one. Android? No thanks.

I can't wait for iPhone to come to Verizon it will be the end of Motorola who seems to think Droid owners are the only users that matter.

Droid users leave for iPhone and Motorola is screwed. They won't get repeat business from any of their other Android phones. People just don't keep going back to companies who play favorites.

IF the iPhone comes to Verizon, it will be interesting to see how they handle it. WIll they still stick all the junk on it they do their other phones? WIll they try and control how you use it? Will they match the ATT data plans? Will the network appear to function as well as people are expecting? I know that with Verizon phones data is not that dif

The grass is always greener - as long as there is no iPhone, interest will be high in having it as a choice.

When it is a choice, people will weigh that choice against other choices like Samsung Epic/Fascinate, Droid 2, Droid X.

I don't see anywhere close to half actually getting an iPhone. More like 20%.

And AT&T will eventually have to respond to their losses by offering real, quality Android phones, instead of their joke Android phones: Dell Aero's, Streak, etc.

Overall this isn't going to 'double' iPhone sales, it will just be a smart move that will help with sales - no grand bump in marketshare will occur, however.

20% would make it the single most popular phone model on Verizon.
