We occasioanally find unwanted, undownloaded photos on our computer and are wondering how they get there. We found them by accident after receiving an email with a digital photo (one we wanted). After viewing the photo, we click on next, and start seeing all kinds of pictures. Most are little photos, icons, etc that are in some way related to some internet site we've visited (the ebay logo for instance). However, as we continue hitting next, scrolling through the pictures, we occasionally fin porn that has not been downloaded or viewed by us. Can this stuff get downloaded on our computer without us knowing it? I guess I'm somewhat old fashioned, and slightly computer illiterate, so I'd appreciate all the help/opinions I can get. Another means of reaching these photos is using the print wizard. We'll go to print a photo we want, and in the process, we'll get a display of dozens/hundred of photos to choose from to print. Again, some are our actual photos, and stuff from web sites we've visited, but some are porn that we have not visited. All opinions appreciated.

I'm guessing that someone in your house has visited at least one porn site, possibly by accident. I would suggest clearing out your Internet cache since most images, etc. that are viewed with your browser are usually stored there. I'm assuming that you use IE... If so, click on Tools in the menu bar, then Internet Options in the drop down menu, In the General tab, in the Temporary Internet files section, click on the Delete Files button. If you think someone may have visited a porn site, you should probably click the Delete Cookies button also, but doing so will clear all of the information saved by IE (email addresses, passwords, website settings, etc). Next, go to the Content tab, click on the Enable button, and block whatever kind of content you don't want. You should probably check any folders where you save images and manually delete pictures that you don't want. If there are still unwanted pictures showing up, and you don't mind deleting your IE cookies, you could use this tip from the Jan 2007 PC World magazine's Here's How section. Delete all of your temp file data by clicking on the Start button, then Run... and type the following, replacing username with the name of the user account. del /s /q "C:Documents and SettingsusernameLocal SettingsTemp."If your system drive is something other than C:, then also change that to the appropriate letter.

rus72 Doing an delete of temporary files, cookies and history will be the first step to cleaning. Next you should do a disk cleanup with all applications shut down. Then do an adware scan a spyware scan and then a defrag. Reboot cold and load and run the virus scan you have....don't you?..Some porn sites you can't get rid of and when booted will completely take over. Most are just cookies and theres even some special codes that will take over too. You'd know if you were infected after a good cleanup. If you can monitor your network activity, watch closely. Either that or just pull the plug or shut the router down.

You should probably install a software firewall once you get everything cleared out. Someone could be using your computer online as a storage facility for their porn files. http://www.zonelabs....og/products/skulistza.jsp?dc=12bms&ctry=US&lang=en&lid=nav_zaYou could also have intrusive spyware or adware which generally loads more than you know on your computer once you see images popping out of nowhere.
