Hello I have recently purchased a Sony Vaio VGN N160G and it works great but I'am having a problem with my audio input. I use Magix Music Maker to record music and when I record and then playback my voice only play out of the left speaker and I also notice while I'm recording the volume meter shows that my voice is only coming out of the left speaker. I've made sure that all the volume and advanced volume control settings are right and it still manages to output my voice thru the left speaker. The soundcard that is installed in laptop is a RealTek HD Audio input card. Thank You.

You know what, I have a weird problem that is kind of like that. I have Dell XPS. About two months after I purchased it something happened to the sound and I can't fix it. What happens is that when my volume is equal on both speakers and I use headphones I hear weird sounds and not the sound I'm suppose to hear, but when I take out headphones it's normal. Then when I turn down my right speaker and only leave my left one it works fine. But if I use my volume buttons on laptop to raise or lower the volume both speakers will equalize and I'll get weird sound again which can only be fixed by going into control panel and then advance options of sound to turn down right speaker...... weird, huh?

for the problem with mic, Realtek HD Audio has a mono mic feature. you might find a Realtek Control Panel in the Windows (I assume u use this) control Panel. Click on it, select the "Mixer" Tab, under Realtek HD Audio Input section in this tab, select the click option below Mic mixer. Uncheck the checkbox with Mono Mic. This should solve your problem.
