Maybe...
I have OOMA and have been quite happy with it but I do have the "no monthly cost" version that costs about $220 for equipment. The net talk is costwise probably a better deal. Call quality on OOMA is very good... I. Don't know how it compares to net talk... The review suggests well if net talk is directly into a router.. OOMA does not offer the option of plugging into the computer.

Prior to owning the Net Talk Duo device and service I was Magic Jack customer for 3 years. What enticed me to switch to Net Talk Duo was the fact that their device was able to plug directly into a router and free up a computer. After getting my Net Talk Duo device configured and using the service, I noticed that the call quality was slightly better than the Magic Jack service and figured that I had made the right move, then my device stopped working! I followed all of the troubleshooting tips from the website but was still unable to resolve my issues. I then noticed that I was not getting any blinking lights from the network cable port on the Net Talk Duo device. I then went to the net talk website and opened a high priority support ticket. Two days later someone from support contacted me and wanted me to go through the troubleshooting tips on their site. I explained that I have already done all of this and will need the unit replaced. He said he would check on what can be done. A week goes by and no word, so I check the status of the case and call the tech number listed on their site. I get a live person from their “Tech” department and the gentlemen said that he is not in customer service and can’t replace my unit and gave me the direct email to the customer service side. I then write up an email including my support ticket info and explaining everything hoping this would expedite my case. Another few days go by and I get an email asking how long I have had the service. I reply with how long I have had the service, and then get a reply stating that since I have had the device longer than 30 days I cannot get a refund. This goes back and forth for about 3 weeks and I am told that I will need to buy a new device and they can transfer my number over. Initially I was going to go with that option but from the experience I had with their customer service and cheaply made device, decided not to buy another unit in hopes that it will last beyond a year. Net talk claims to have 7 day customer service but this is a farce. I am going to cut my losses and try another VOIP service. I do not recommend the Net Talk DUO, Net Talk DUO II or Net Talk in itself!

I take it none of you people are familiar with connect-me freetalk adapter for Skype. It works great as well.

Net talk customer service SUCK!!!! when ever we call they start you with Waiting number 35. After 2 hours wait, phone got disconnect.Bottom line is if you have any problem you can't speak to any net talk person. I send them 15 emails no replay. I think it is scam.

MajicJack is a crap. NetTalk is cheeper and good sound quality, you can even fax using NetTalk. MajicJack is not good for faxing.

I have used the product for a year and would NOT recommend it. It’s not reliable for home or business. The line constantly drops, no dial tones, cannot dial 1-800 numbers. This is normal scenario, dial a number, line drops, wait, reset Duo, wait and no dial tone. Wait another 15 min, do dial tone. 4 hours no dial tone!

I have called Tech Support, the lousiest tech support, based in U.S. Get ready to wait 45 minutes to 1 hour for response. By Email, takes 4 days response and emails stop.

Overall I would not recommend this product, it ‘s going down my garbage chute as I would not sell it to some poor sucker!

Too bad I can’t file class action lawsuit for selling a defective product! Any pro bono lawyers out there! Product like this should never reach the market.

Wasted $80!

NetTalk is the best. Very friendly customer service and completley reasonable pricing. It really is exactly the same thing as Vonage, just much cheaper (and you can't port your phone number... yet!). Tons of area codes available and they're always adding new areas. In case anyone had the same idea I did, it WILL work with a wireless gaming adapter. Call quality is excellent!
