A duble image or a reversed image/pixel. Those stuck pixels are usually the fault of the driver boards memory but can be a short or over-riding influence on the display panel itself. Try different coor to determine the correct fault.

Hi, Eric.

A few questions:

  • What's the make and model of your TV.
  • What technology does it use (LCD, plasma)?
  • How old is the TV?
  • When did the problem develop?

Easy to fix all I have to do is move it a bit then its fine. But I would like to know if I can fix it because they will be a bigger issue down the road. I did make sure are the cables are tight.

Do you mean that physically moving the TV temporarily fixes the problem?

Yes and it only seems to do it when you turn on the tv from the tv being off for a long time.

Are you saying the problem only occurs when you turn on the TV after it's been off for a long time? And it stops when you physically move the TV a bit?

Or do you mean that the fix--moving the TV--only works when it's been off for a long time?

And how long a time?

Yes the problem only occurs when I turn on the TV after it's been off for a long time and to fix the problem I tap the back of tv a few times and it fixs it. When I wake and turn on the tv the problem occurs tv is off for 7+hrs and it sometimes happens after 1hr. So its kinda hit or miss on how long it has been off for but it will not occur if the tv has been off for 30mins.

Well dear One of the more common problems with LCD TVs is a stuck pixel. LCD TVs uses pixels, which alternate between red, green and blue to create the image on your screen. Once in a while one of these pixels will be come fixed, or stuck, on a constant color. No matter what image is displayed, there will always be a fixed dot on the screen. Before taking your TV into a repair service or calling the manufacturer, try these basic fixes.

Hi, Flint. What basic fixes should he try?

A defect of some sort, but I'm not sure what. I've heard of stuck pixels, but not ones that could be fixed that easily.

As far as what to do with it? If it's under warranty, take it in.

Otherwise, not sure. Maybe just get in the habit of tapping the back of the TV every time I turn it on.
