E-book Lending, Periodicals Reading In Apps Coming To Kindle

I don't care about sharing with others. Amazon needs to work something out with the libraries to help them build e-book inventory.
I read 100+ books a year (2 hours a day public transmportation time plus lunch hour). I can't afford a $1,000+ annual expense for books (on top of the $200 or so I spend on magazines), so I get 99% of my books from the library.
The downside is that libary books are almost always hardcover, so large and bulky. I would love to switch to a slim and light device like a Kindle or iPad. Plus I would almost certainly buy more books given how easy it is to do so. So it's a win-win for me and Amazon.
One final thought. Give me a way to donate my DRM licensed book to the library when I am done. It helps me support my community and gives me further incentive to buy a Kindle.
