Wow, what a hassle. It might be worth mentioning that this feature has been on the iPhone for nearly ..what? 3 years?

Hold the Power Button then Home button down "snap!". Screenshot from any app, anytime, anywhere.

I use an app from Android Market called 'ShootMe' on my HTC Evo. Doesn't require that it be rooted. It may on other devices, but works just fine on the Evo. Maybe it works without rooting on HTC Sense devices?

For samsung people, home button + lock button would take screenshots. i have the galaxy pocket and it works for me. : )
