AMD now has a new part - Phenom II X4 970 Black Deneb 3.5GHz. It stands alongside its X4 965 Black Deneb 3.4 brother. Both 45nm. L2 & 3 cache appear to be equal. Both Black Editions. Same 125W spec. Is the ONE TENTH of ONE GHz the only difference?!
What would be the benefit of a 3.5 OVER a 3.4? Why would AMD release nearly identicle parts? Am I missing something incredibly obvious?
Hmm, ...

Nope - that is how it works, every so often AMD releases an "updated" chip with a 100Mhz gain or so.
"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'" -- Isaac Asimov
