This is nothing new. I've been seeing DHL/TWC/Parcel Force etc fake emaisl for ages now.
What woudl be new would be someone believing them.

A couple of months ago my wife received a notification through our letterbox purporting to be from DHL just stating "unable to deliver" with no contact information. Shortly afterwards I got an email alleged to be from DHL. I ignored it but later she asked if I could look at it as she was expecting an item but she did not know who the carrier was.The letter said "unable to deliver due to incorrect address".Shortly afterwards (it may have been coincidence) I lost control of the computer. A notice came up allegedly from Microsoft, complete with spelling mistakes and bad grammar saying that they could remove the errors with payment only from a Debit card.I managed to do a number of scans with McAffee which removed 7 viruses and eventually operation was brought back to normal by resetting to an earlier date. Was this supposed letter from DHL with no telephone number or address dropped through my letterbox part of an elaborate scam to trigger my interest to examine the email.I did not open any attachments!

Since switching to my OS isn't a security fix because it's dead, I'll just say that I feel very sympathetic to your plight. Good luck.

I have an e-mail address I use for temporary use on sites I don't have any faith in. This keeps most of the garbage off my secure mail box. I scan through the headings but never look at any or open them. Loads of notices from DHL, Walmart, KMart and a raft full of others with delivery notices and free gift cards. They sound tempting but I've been doing this for a while and know better.
