I've used many registry cleaners. They are safe to use 99.9% of the time. However, I had one episode with CCleaner's registry cleaner, apparently it deleted something it shouldn't have, and I had to re-install Windows, because my computer was basically running at a halt.

i use regkey cleaner and feel very comfortable letting this program run its processes. the main functionality from what i understand is that this tool gets rid of broken, missing, and/or no longer existing regkey files that are tied to applications such as for instance yahoo messenger, etc. and cleans them out thus creating more hard drive space and enhanced speed.there's a lot more to it so i would encourage you to read up on this program so that you fully understand its capability.

I believe a registry cleaner is safe when you know what is OK to be deleted and what should just be left alone. No registry cleaner is 100% safe. You should know what lies beneath your registry before applying a program to go and delete things for you, because you never know what wrong deleted entry will bring your OS to a complete crash and require a new install.I've had good experience with Registry First Aid. I don't run it as often as most people would, but I do run it when I feel that my windows os absolutely needs touching up.Never take anything likely, it could be the worst mistake you ever do.
