Both of these technologies are nice...but what I want is a speech recognition technology that will work from a digital recording--that way I can record an email dictation--or perhaps even write actual lines of programming code, while I am in the middle of doing something else, like driving alone--or hey maybe even while I am in the shower (where, like most people, I do my best thinking).

Vista version has been launched now and also is backwards compatible with XP.
