For regular consumers, I think it might. They're already quite common. However, there will always be the pros who want great image quality with their D-SLRs. They won't use cell phone cameras most likely.

I find that I'm using my camera less and less. The camera in my Droid X is handier--I always have it with me--and usually good enough. And it has some advantages over the camera: time, date, and location stamping, plus the ability to email the photo right away.

But the lens is definitely inferior to the one in my camera, and I don't even have all that good a camera.

I keep my tiny little sony point and shoot in a case right next to my iphone, and nearly always have both. I find that if I want to take a picture at random, it's because of something that's currently happening. With my Sony, I take it out of its pouch, slide the lens cover, and it's ready for a picture.
If I were to use my iphone, take it out, hit the home button, slide my finger across the screen, enter my unlock code, locate the camera app, and then wait 3-5 seconds while the app launches.
And, on top of it, the Sony is simply a better camera in every way. That's just using my P&S, and not an SLR which has its own distinct advantages.

As a photographer, probably not in my lifetime. That would be very hard to achieve the lens quality and precision of a dslr into a slim device that fits in one's pocket...

For the casual snapshots, my iPhone 4 does a pretty good job!
Even the experts started out as beginners

for casual and regular mobiles works good but can't be replaced over digital camera or camcorders for high resolutions.

Which device provides the best video quality?
With digital cameras, digital camcorders, mobile phones and all able to record videos but my personal choice is Mobile. We can talk and it's able to capture pic and many things like Digital Camera And Camcoders.
