Although I can "view" all the photos on my drive, suddenly, all of them have their properties OPEN WITH "NOTEBOOK". So when I click on a photo to OPEN in a larger window (in Corel Photo or Windows Live Photo) they now open as gobblty gook in NOTEBOOK. Is there a way to change the default back to Corel Photo or Windows Live Photo?

R-click the file in question.
Mouse over "Open with"...
On the menu that appears, select "choose default program"...
Navigate to the program you want to open the file and select it.
MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE BOX THAT SAYS "always open these kind of files with this program" (or something along those lines).
Click "OK".

Now all files with that extension will be opened by the selected program.

Be aware that the changing of file associations can be caused by the installation of new software. It can also be caused by Malware... so you may wish to scan your PC with your AV.

av... like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free. (Microsoft Security Essentials is a good realtime av, so is Avast Free, but don't run both)
