when logging onto my mail server using AVG antivirus I get the following msg: "MICROSOFT VISUAL CRUNTIME LIBRARYProgram C:Progra~1GrisoftAVGFREavgfre.exeA buffer overrun has been detected which corrupted the program internal state."I am running WinXP Pro with 55gb of free HD space. When the msg occurs the email server terminates.Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am what you would call an intermediate user.

Bgate,I would like some clarification if you don't mind. What mail server do you use that you have to log in via AVG? Or are you saying that you are attempting to log into Outlook or Outlook Express which has AVG as an email scanner? If I am correct, this sounds like a program specific situation. Try to uninstall AVG and then reinstall the latest version directly from Grisoft.

How long have you seen this message? Do you remember installing any specific programs before the error message came up? If so, I would either uninstall that program or do a system restore to a date before you received that message and try again.I did some google searches but I could not find a definitive answer for your problem. :(Let me know if that works.
