The fact is, that you are a completely ignorant and truly tasteless bimbo who has no respect for the laws that we must all follow daily in society, or for all of us "boring and mundane people" as you put it in your pathetic "petition". Believe it or not, 99.999% of society will get along just fine while you are serving the sentence that you were given the chance to not have to do ,provided that you simply follow the instructions that were given to you by the judge. So, while you are locked up and using Bob Barker underarm deodorant and other exquisite toiletries, we "boring and mundane" people who obey the law will be on the outside, getting along in life just fine and dandy, Using our low budget Old Spice and Suave toiletries! So, next time you and your buddy Nicole take pleasure in bashing the "simple",hardworking law abiding citizens like you do on your stupid little t.v. program, You'll think twice about drinking and driving.

I can not believe that you didn't mention the request for donation the petition site sends you to after you enter your name and email. This is obviously a case where the service is pimping out Paris Hilton for their own gain. NOW THAT'S A STORY TO WRITE.

I like how the petition claims that the authorities are using Paris as an example. No, I'm pretty sure everyone who has a DUI on a suspended license gets sent to jail (well, unless you're a politician ). Not sending her would send the wrong message to all the 12-year-old girls who look up to her.The prosecutor should treat this case just as he would if it were a "normal, mundane" citizen driving drunk on a suspended license. Drunk driving is a serious offense. She may not have killed anybody this time, but that doesn't make it okay. It's time for Paris to realize that she is not above the law, and all her money and fame cannot save her from a jail sentence. Hopefully, she'll come out a bit more wise after cooling her heels in a jail cell for 45 days.Don't worry, all you Paris Hilton fans. Forty-five days isn't long. It's not like a year or anything. Your little world will not fall apart without Paris in it.btw - 36, m, CONSERVATIVE. (I think only liberals would ask for her to be pardoned solely on her status.)

Why we have to wait until an innocent die for punishing to someone who is driving drunk. She was aware about her suspended license, but she felt UNTOUCHABLE because she is rich. That is the problem with power people, they dont care until they have to. SHE DESERVES GO TO JAIL. The best example for the youth is LAW is for everyone: the same.

I Think it is fair that she serves, I have been through Auto and authority troubles (although i have never drank and driven, mind you) and i know there are bad consequences for driving on a suspended license. She should serve jail time to show that we are all people, no matter how much money or celebrity status we have. I know that that may have been the sentance if anybody else had done the same...Why should she be let off the hook? Celebrities today think that they are righteous above the law, and that is a big problem. What i don't understand is if YOU ARE Paris Hilton, (and had some common sense lol) you would know that everyone on the damn planet knows all the gossip and that you got caught drinking and driving, so i'm amazed that she thought she could drive in the public's eye when everyone knows she's got a suspended license! How dumb can you be?!!If you ask me, all Paris needs is a nice tall glass of SHUT THE HELL UP!!!Joke i heard on the radio today:Paris Hilton got into a car crash today...When the police asked her what had happened, she replied "I was driving along when i spotted a tree right in front of me! so i swerved out of the way...and then another tree popped up so i swerved again...finally, i hit the wall and crashed! " The policeman then goes over the wreck and pulls out a Tree air freshener hanging from the rearview mirror and says to her "It wasn't this tree...was it?"

She should have been made to serve 45 days in jail just for being in "The Simple Life".This deserves a yr at hard labor. Put her on a chain gang and let her pick up some trash along the highway.

[quote name='oparada1120']Can someone please tell me...FOR THE LOVE OF WHATEVER GOD EXISTS...why in the world is this woman is so freakin' famous!?!?!?!?!? And don't give me the reason that she's the daughter of the guy who owns the Hilton hotels.> > > > :xThat question is right up there with other great mysteries, like What is the meaning of life? When the media targets someone like her, they give them so much coverage that average bored people, being the sheep that they are, start believing that there's something fascinating about these idiots. I suppose that people who admire Paris Hilton have no real life of their own, and secretly wish that they were living her lifestyle. The only way to avoid being exposed to these train wrecks is stop buying the magazines and other media that are making millions from exploiting these "celebrities".INCIDENT FROM THE SIMPLE LIFE TV SHOWParis Hilton and Nicole Richie decided to attend a church service."Dear Lord," the preacher began with arms extended and a rapturous look on his upturned face, "without you we are but dust..."He would have continued, but at that moment Paris (who was listening carefully) leaned over to Nicole and asked quite audibly in her shrill little girl voice, "Nicole, WHAT is butt dust?" Church was pretty much over at that point...

Paris should go to jail for 45 days and wear jail clothes and eat jail food. Might teach her some humility and character.

Hmm, lots of interesting responses. I think some of these people need chill pills, or perhaps Prozac. Here's my response:Paris Hilton is a celebrity, known far and wide. Celebrities are regarded as roll models for the younger generation. The sentence handed down may very well have been to send a message, and for good reason. If a celebrity is given a slap on the wrist for an offense as bad as drunk driving, what message is THAT sending to the younger generation?Celebrities should always be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, if not more so, because of the impact their actions have on others. Remember, with great power comes great responsibility, not get-out-of-jail-free cards or any other form of not taking responsibility for one's actions. These people set an example, and it needs to be a good one. If she doesn't have to fulfill her sentence, that is sending a VERY wrong message to the public eye.

Poor little Paris. She is the target of extreme adulation and extreme hatred, both unearned and unjustifiable. Of the two, I find the unjustifiable hatred, amply displayed in the above comments, far more distasteful.

I think most people are ignoring an important fact, the 45 days is not being given for driving without a license or the speeding, or the wreckless endangerment charges, it is solely for breach of probation, the second time. She still has to go to court in July to face the other charges which are all very serious. She should be thankful that it didn't happen in Canada, where mandatory sentancing would have found her in jail, when she was arrested to serve the full amount of the original sentence. There has been a lot of bashing about her parents, while they support their daughter it is not to say that they approve of her behaviour, they do have other children who are not in the news and they raise a lot of money for charity. But what can you do about a child who is addicted to her own press. Why she is considered famous has always evaded me, she is not beautiful, has no talent (even in the bedroom) and is as dumb as a stick. Yet people adore her, even though she has uttered both racist and homophobic remarks in public and has a mouth that would make a truck driver blush. And this is a role model who in her own defence stated that she thought she could drive because she needed it for work purposes. Since when is partying, getting drunk and being a royal pain in th behind been classified as work. The statements made about her performing a public good because she is entertaining is frightening, What are you going to say when her behaviour finally gets someone killed. And you do know that in that accident, the only one who will walk away is Ms. Hilton herself. Its about time, celebrities had their lives ruined because of their pathetic behaviour, before they ruin someone elses.

Unjustifiable?...What the hell do you mean?!!! I don't know about you guys but i see a whole hell of a lot of reasons here, not excuses...When your kid gets hit by a drunk driver we'll see what you call UNJUSTIFIABLE.......and ya might be lucky enough to get a slap of DISTASTEFUL too

To refrain from indulging in hatred does not at all involve condoning Paris's sins of omission or commission. It may indeed be best that she is punished – I do not know. But what good or useful purpose does it serve to direct hatred against her? None, obviously. I would suggest that doing so has a far more detrimental effect on the hater than on her, in any case. I cannot see that imprisoning her is going to accomplish anything good, apart from keeping her off the road for a short period of time. The view I have of her personality and character lead me to believe that she will not reflect on the meaning of her punishment to any useful end - she will simply continue to suffer. Or perhaps she will fearfully recall her punishment next time she desires to get behind the wheel of a car and so refrain from doing so – a positive result for the public, certainly, but added misery for Paris – and by misery I mean the fear and frustration, not the refraining from driving. She would be like a trapped animal, without any real comprehension of the meaning of its fate. There has to be a better alternative – and I think there is. If I had been the judge deciding her fate I would have seriously considered waiving her sentence if she agreed to live in a Buddhist nunnery for a month - perhaps even three months – put her in the company of Buddhist nuns and have her live as one of them.

Why should Paris be let off the hook? She decided to drive drunk, putting herself and others in danger. Then, after being given a probation sentence instead of jail, she violated that twice! 45 days is rather lenient considering the potential harm she could have caused. Wake up, Paris! Join the real world!

Sad-so much for reality eh Paris - I wish u everything anyone in the world without privilege may experience-then maybe 1 day you'll get your just reward-lose a child to a DUI-if you are able to give birth-lose a beloved person or does real love exist in your world-you aren't that special just like the rest of us-sad part is you believe you are.but know you're not or do you Privilege because of wealth is your luck-maybe someday the cards won't fall your way-money is paper, things but integrity is earned not bought-real respect whether personal or otherwise is not obviously your priority but someday, just someday you may need to step up to the plate and acknowledge the past, present misgivings of privilege, wealth & self indulgence -what will go around will come around-learn now or experience the reality of the future - GIVE AND BE GIVEN TAKE AND BE TAKEN! Redundant now but who knows what the future for anyone holds...you aren't that special just VERY INHERITENTLY RICH! UNLUCKY U!!!
