Hi! My computer has been virus attacked. I was told that I need to recover files. I understand this a little, so I began looking for information about this on the internet. I found different articles about files recovering . But I do not understand quite what program I need it and where to get it. What should I do? Thanks.

If your PC has been infected you first need to cure the infection, then recover data.

I suspect Mr. Spector would refer you to his PC World article on Malware infections.

Hi, Jones, and welcome to the PCW forums.

FascistNation is right. But I don't have to recommend the article because he already did.

Now, about your files. Can you tell us what malicious program infected your PC? There's a really bad one going around, CryptoLocker, that encrypts your files. The only way to get them back, assuming you don't have a backup, is to send the perps money.
