For uninstalling programs and files etc. I highly recommend McAfee's Uninstaller program. It works great, never had a problem and it really does uninstall anything.

I've used AVG Anti-virus for years, never had a problem, and would recommend it to anyone. I recently tried ZoneAlarm firewall, and wouldn't wish that one on my worst enemy. I went back to the recently revised Comodo free firewall, and feel very comfortable. I'd recommend the newest free version of Comodo firewall to you and all!

I always heard from year to year there is a difference in the top listings of anti virus spyware programs. I try to find what the Dell technicians use. I had a major & obvious virus in 4 years of keeping my machine free of trojans, rootkits, worms etc. I didn't mind some adware knowing that some cookies saved were coming from that source. No different then Microsoft wanting to know your interest in advertizing. Privacy settings have a lot to do with getting rid of BS. Pop-Ups should be turned on and that eliminates more BS. I have a subscription for WindowsLiveOneCare the whole suite - firewall, anti vrus,spyware,tune-up,& back-up files. 2 TROJANS were caught not by WLOC,but by a Dell Technician. I asked how could this happen with WLOC running constantly updating? He tells me to get McAfee. Dell works with McAfee, but I knew that. I saw the the Trojans get runned down by what Dell used to find them. I reported this incident to the WLOC Techs. They gave me an answer to run the WLOC scan in the safe mode which I do from time to time. I have bought into WEBROOT-SPYSWEEPER;MCAFEE & WLOC each with their whole 9 yards. What I learned out of all this is NO 1-CAREFUL ON THE SURFING THE NET(FAKE WEBSITES,SOFTWARE PROGRAM DOWNLOADS,ADDRESSES & TELEPHONE NUMBERS. N0 2- YOU CAN'T RELY ON JUST ONE PROGRAM,KEEP AN ARSENAL THAT DOESN'T CONFLICT WITH ANOTHER PROGRAM DOING THE SAME THING KEEPING YOUR MACHINE FREE. WLOC uses windows defender in real time with a subscription. I also know that using MSN(microsoft)for your internet connection uses TREND-MICRO for email account & spam blocker.
