What I find interesting about this news bite is that they are planning to sell music in mp3 format. If that's really true, then that means there won't be any DRM, because the mp3 format has no DRM capability. That would lead to my next question, which would be are they going to be selling the same stuff you can buy on iTunes? If so, the future of other DRM-oriented stores like iTunes might be bleak.

limewire denies the word subscription but makes you pay $20 every 6 months. and so far it is no different now than it was a year ago,...by the way it looks on my screen. but I think the number of subscribers has dropped,..since most of today's kids won't pay for anything.

The interesting thing about that was I remember I had a friend who was a subscriber to Limewire Pro. He had to pay for it right...? So you pay for Limewire Pro but your still downloading and sharing files illegally.

I personally have nothing illegal. all I look for and have are my john wayne flicks and clint eastwoods that i bought and paid for,..and the old time 50 and 60 music.

I ain't like today's kids,...doing all that other stuff. I don't have the new stuff. nothing i have has any royalties to it.

To quote the message that you are replying to, click the image of the speech bubbles that is in the rich text panel, just to the left of the smiley face on the top level of icons.

I liked Lime Wire for allowing me the chance to listen to tracks of artists I hadn't heard before and decide if their music is woth getting or not. No way will I pay to download something I might hate and not want.
RIAA andf the recording firms they make up are just greedy. After all the times they've been caught price fixing and then still cry fowl when they don't get the total sales they expected to for any fiscal year. I don't feel sorry for the recording industry

Look how they screw over those who sign contracts with them. Meatloaf for example, he got shafted on his first album. Besides some of the "so called arists" can't sing or write a note they just scream and wail incoherently like they're on a bad acid trip the entire time.
