I'm guessing that Microsoft shut this site down because it made them look bad. It has a better reliability record than WGA.

Another squashing of INOVATION by Redmond! I have one machine left out of five to finish converting to Linux. It makes you sick that if Micro$oft can't control it they buy it or squash it!

I can somewhat understand their position of wanting to maintain control over their product, but I would think they should just refuse to support any system that has been tampered with by third-party software in this fashion. It is absolutely ridiculous to not have SP3 out for Windows XP yet. I wipe and reload a lot of computers at work, and although we have a WSUS system, it is downright ridiculous to have to install over 100 patches on a fresh install of Windows XP SP2. Once SP3 is out, I can slipstream it onto installation images and be done with it, at least for a while. I think somebody in upper management is failing to comprehend the frustration level that installing hundreds of patches repeatedly is causing. In the perfect world, you would never have to reformat any computers, but unfortunately we live in the real world.
