Actually, there are several factual errors in this article, as I pointed out to another journalist recently.
Diablo 2 had over 2 million pre-orders, and sold more than a million more in the first week or two after general release. World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade sold almost 2.4 million copies in the first 24 hours alone (mostly pre-sales). (http://blizzard.com/press/070123.shtml)
I'm not sure what you base you're claims on, but it sounds like you used the overly general term of "video games" instead of "console games." Every gamer I know (what, 200 ATM?) would be confused by this as "video game" has not been soley used to refer to consoles since the early-mid 90's, at least to my knowledge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game). "Console games" would be more appropriate (if that was the intended attribution), and would then exclude Blizzard's record sales, alonge with being a more accurate description of Microsoft and Bungie's accomplishments.

MMM breaks sales maybe in america... and thats because they put more publisity into this game then anything else using soo much of microsofts empire to more use... i think they should give up on gaming systems and go back onto home computers. before apple seizes it... sorry xbox fan boys but i dont like the 360 too bulky and ugly for me and if im going to go for top quality games i want sleek looks, and graphics that will knock my head back and ps3 can give that to me. and still the wii is only $200 like omg why buy a some hundred doller machine when a awesome toy thats cheap is right there... for halo 3.... comeone... the only reason its popular in america is b/c it was made for americans. the b*tch load of advertizing and internet rumors saying its the greatest thing ever will get all your attention. Right now im Visiting Japan i think i say one commercial about halo 3 and i dont think anyone cared...
