Why is typosquatting illegal?

Not a smart criminal? He's been making $1 Million a year and had to pay $164,000 to the FTC. I could live with that.

It's illegal because you are committing fraud by passing your site off as someone elses.

Five years ago, a federal court had barred Zuccarini from registering domains that are misspellings of legitimate brands, a practice called typosquatting

How is this misrepresentation?
If it is misspelled?
so AXE.com is the same as Ax.com or Aks.com
I do not think so
Personally targeting children's website names is appalling, but so are politicians and we seem to have plenty of them lurking around!
