I not only want my own email server that will have no size limits for incoming and outgoing attachments or file types, but also will allow FTP uploads, FTP downloads, creation and publishing of my own websites (with site editor and templates) and even a simple shopping cart utility should I wish to set up a small, home-based business. Of course, I also expect to have secure encryption and password protected access from others who I allow to access specified folders or websites that are hosted on it. Now can the manufacturers provide such a system for me for under $3K?

Why the high cost and the special OS? This is the kind of thing many people use old Macs and NAS for, and it costs a lot less money, and they've been doing it for a few years.
