Actually, Mr. Moderator, my question to you was tongue in cheek, as they say. I actually approve of your cutting folks a little slack. A good, heated, exchange will inevitably get a bit of picante spice in it and makes for a better, more amusing read, me-thinks.

Yes, a heated discussion or debate is absolutely fine. There have been quite a few debates, normally about "which is better" Discussions. I, nor any of the Member Moderators, have no problem allowing a Discussion to grow and develop as long as everyone understands that there are boundaries. Once the lines are crossed, we have to step in and release the stress a bit.
