Just tried out the Gibson Robot guitar at Guitar Center in Sherman Oaks, Ca. I'm building a site called intuneguitar.com and I'm a certified "tuning freak" for the last 30 yrs. I was skeptical, there is a lot to tuning a guitar besides electronic tuners, you have saddle adjustments, truss rod, etc. I manually detuned the robot guitar, hit the electronic tuner knob, and then played chords up and down the neck, checked harmonic tuning up and down the neck and it was %100 perfect. The only problem i heard was the top e-string being a little flat, I'm sure an easily corrected problem. The accuracy is perfect. People have been talking about this type of tuner for eons. it won't be long before these tuners are available on all guitar's and sold as an add-on. A-440 is an exact frequency, and these electronic tuners hone in on it like a heat seeking missle. A piano player does not constantly reach over his piano and tune up while playing, now guitar players have the same freedom.
