I installed Vista on my XPS 410 and had no trouble. Took 2 hours but all went well. Now I am using DELL XPS One - The hard drive is in the monitor. Love it and Vista too. Even getting used to small print too. I'm 78 years young!

magpielil-Thank you for sharing your experiences with Vista. BUT, thank you even more for mentioning your age.
I am in contact with friends and relatives all over the world. We range in age from 14 to 83. We use Windows and Macs and speak, read and write Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German and Spanish. We research our family history, translate documents for each other and swap genealogy files, photos and documents all over the world. We have keyboards for Macs and for Windows computers in many languages and we can handle anything! Whatever the format, language, OS..we can do anything. We help each other out if there is a problem..we never contact India.
Don't listen to that old adage that "You can't teach old dogs new tricks." It is a lie!
I hope that others will read our comments and realize that age has nothing to do with learning modern technology. How many young people know how to use an i-Pod as an external hard drive for photos? lol
Good luck
