This was in response to my second comment on here after I showed said friend the article.
This is what a friend of mine in IRC had to say, "I completely agree with that second comment. In English, we actually got wrapped up with the story. There was a class debate about Scientology. Well, it wasn't really a debate. We all agreed that Scientology sucks. Anonymous = Organized? Psh. We can't find our socks."
So, I guess that means they're not going to stop, and not anytime soon, from what I'm hearing.
And no, I'm not an insider. >_> At least, not as you guys might think me to be. So, yeah.

We are not attacking the religion based on the beliefs that they hold, we are attacking it for two main factors.

1) This is not a religion designed on foundations that are actually believable, and were written by a FICTIONAL WRITER. I am pretty sure people should believe things coming out of the mouth of an individual who writes stories that were made for no one to ever believe were real to begin with, so why should we start now?

2) The church of scientology is actually a scam. They are a church for profit and don't actually admit it anywhere on their site. Let's face it, there is nothing honest about Scientology, so why should we respect their beliefs when they don't respect ours?

Right now as we speak, they are thinking of new ways to exploit other religions which, last time I checked, goes against the constitution. They are also taking matters into their own hands with their copyrights and are threatening individuals without any actual legal grounds. They are trying to play religious police and they have no right to do so, they're not protected under any law when they try to steal someone else's copyrighted works.

Karusune, I'm inclined to agree with a majority of your posting, with one major exception: you can't dismiss a religion based on whether the beliefs are based in reality or not.
If we did that, every religion from Christianity, to Judaism, with Mormons and Protestants in between, would have to be disqualified. I was raised Catholic, and not for one minute am I foolish enough to consider Bible stories "believable" or "based on reality.
I think you may have also gotten your syntax a little mixed up. L.R. Hubbard is a Fiction writer...not a Fictional writer. That point I agree with you. As someone else already pointed out in another posting; Hubbard invented Scientology on a dare and bet with another sci-fi writer of the time, Robert Heinlein.

Karusune, some of your points are right. And certainly, people will always argue whether a religion's beliefs are valid or not. But a scam is where you take someone's money and deliver nothing in return. Scientology carefully avoids that situation. It requires small donations for beginning courses. If a person feels they have received no value for their money, they could quit. On the other hand, if someone donated a large amount, for a quantity of courses and auditing, and felt they recieved no value, they could demand a refund for undelivered services. And such a refund, according to Church policy, would be immediately given (along with an agreement that no further services be delivered to the refund-demander).

True.

I've been hearing stories about them for a while. While I cannot say they're true, the similarities between the stories that I've heard leads me to believe that it is true.

In any case, if they are indeed thinking of new ways to exploit other religions and people, I suspect it won't be long before they're caught in the US. Someone said that they were already banned in the other countries. (Europe?) so it's feasible that the bans will occur here too.

Karusune, I'm curious, how'd you know all this?

And LRH created the religion on a dare? I find that too funny. In fact, I'm LOL'ing at the moment and probably will be for some time. I'm wondering too, where that is shown/proved?

There are 6 active petitions that British citizens and/or residents can sign in regard to scientology by going to the Downing Street website:

These guys remind me of a bunch of roaches. I saw their edited version of the Tom Cruise video. It was an amateurish smear attempt. What's their purpose? To demonstrate how childish they can act?

Roaches. That's a good way to describe them. Bugs that crawl out of the sewer in the dark and scamper back when the light comes on. Why don't they show their faces? It must be because they are afraid to. I'm not afraid to show MY face in public. Why are they? Oh, and as for the doctored up Tom Cruse video, it probably WAS copyrighted. I would have copyrighted it if it had been shot in my studio and posted on my website. And if a bunch of jerks stole and maliciously altered it to ridicule me or my affairs, and especially my religion, you can damned well bet I'd go after them with all the power of the law I could muster. I hope the Church of Scientology does, too, and catches them and their followers. These are the kind of little creeps I'd like to see in prison, learning about what the REALLY bad guys do for fun when the lights go out.
