My attitude has always been "maybe" just "maybe" this one will be better than the last experience. In fact it was the way in which it ended before it began. A promise to see Sting in Concert, in corporate box, being wined and dined, giving me the evenings itinerary of what could have been a beautiful evening but "we must meet first before THE DATE" he says. This is after a week of long chats and emails. I meet him as pre arranged, after a quick drink he now has to attend a family event, this is the man who tells me his children are telling him to get a life and find a lady. Next day receive an email with words something like ... "you are a nice but not what I am looking for good bye and goodluck", Spent the day looking for my ego and deleting my profiles off dating websites. Happy Valentines Day. JOAT

ok, besides the fraud from Russia and Ghana and the other Africian countries, I am getting married on 3/1/08 to someone that I met on a dating site (wanted to get married on 2/29 for the fun of it, but tons wanted the same day. Oh well, those that get married on 2/29 will celebrate theirs on the 1st anyway. It was the best move I ever made. I was always too shy in person to strike up a conversation, the computer was away around that and now I am super happy. I will toast to all of you on my wedding day. Anyone want a picture? let me know and I will send one, LOL

Both of my brothers met their wives on line about a decade ago. One is living happily ever after. The other recently got dumped by his wife.

My experience with online dating and from coversations with friends of both sexes, is that people are always trying to date up out of their "zone".

I'm up front and honest. I'm short. I'm bald. I'm nearsighted. But I have a sense of humor about it. I know my shortcomings. I can find something beautiful in nearly all women. But I've been on the otherside of the fence, I'm not anyone's dreamdate either. No matter how much they say they are just looking for a "nice" guy, they are in fact, looking for the beefcake calendar guy. So the "gems in the rough" get passed over.

But that's ok. It's better to be passed over than to be passed on.

I'm not in a hurry. Good things come to those who...

My hubby and I met at 3:00 A.M. Playing Bingo on www.bingo.com we were friends for the longest time, both of us were with other people at time when we first met. After a while we lost contact with one another, and about a year goes by. By then I had broke up with my significant other, and I get this email, "Hey I havent heard from you in a while how are you?" I had never met anyone online before (or since). Well that's that a few email's lot's of phone calls and 5 yrs later here we are happily married...lol... good luck all and :x :x happy valentines day!!!!!!!!!!
