Faster is not always better. And you pointed out that 200 Mpbs is theoretical. Theory is fine. Reality is better.Where are the certiciation waves, the field trials, the service provide deployments? If HomePlugAV works over its native medium, how do we know it works just as well over another medium, coax? Video behaves differently over differnet mediums. And the competitive threats are not only its own fractured consortium, but other wireline technologies and mediums as well. Distribution of video and entertainment throughout the home is going to be service provider driven for awhile, and we probably want it to be. Let them absorb the costs that come with trial and error. Wireless suffers from reliability and interference issues, as does powerline which was never designed for bandwidth intensive applications such as video. A little box for the price of a Benjamin Franklin is not going to create a home entertainment center, and could make things worse.
