Nobody wants a suicidal console, that's why sales are low. Why buy a red rings of death console when you could get a Wii or PS3 instead?

Not all 360 consoles are suicidal. I've had mine for a year and a half with zero problems. My only gripe is that rock band takes too long to load with all of my downloaded content.

That being said, I don't believe MS's excuse for lagging. I may be old, but I see tons of 360 systems at the few electronics stores I go to. A lot of those core/arcade systems though (which I think are worthless and they should get rid of). Not to mention the "limited edition" Halo systems that are still not sold out. Fact is, the 360 has been out, what- over 2 years now? Pretty much anyone who has an interest in that console has bought one by now (remember that Halo 3 came out well over 6 months ago). Of course sales are going to dip. What was the Gamecube selling at 3 years ago?

Finally, I don't want a PS3 because really, the games/products i'm interested in are on the 360 too, or exclusively. I don't watch too many movies (never buy 'em, only catch some on HBO occasionally), so Blu-ray, and the associated extra cost in the PS3, isn't worth it right now. And the Wii, not being HD, looks really crappy on a 52" 1080p panel, although the controls and exclusive game design are second to none. The wii would have been nice if it were introduced in 2001-2003ish, but they forgot to step their console capabilities up to the next level this round.

I use the 360's integration w/ media player from the PC for music all of the time, which I don't believe the other consoles have.
