It was probably swallowing up ATI that caused them to choke a little, I hope they come out with something that rocks.......I have been using AMD for years and only 1 processor ever went bad on me, just started buying Intel again with the Core 2 Duo chips, as they are more bang for the buck right now. Competition equals value

I've always been a fan of AMD and have used their processors for many years, I hope they can come out with something to blow Intel away.

We need both a strong AMD and Intel to enable us to get better products sooner and cheaper. Remember when Intel was the only game in town we paid high prices for cpu's. Now that they are playing at almost the same level we pay a fair price. Keep up the compatition we the consumer win in the end.

I actually believe AMD builds better processors. I have always used AMD processors but my wife purchased a computer with a (then) current Intel processor thru her company and I swear the computer would seem to always crash or freeze up while I rarely had problems with my AMD computers.

Then my son opened a e-mail that wiped the hard drive out so I reinstalled Windows XP and gave it away and brought a new HP computer with the AMD 64 dual core and Vista and had had no problems what so ever and it is going on 5 months.

I don't know if it is the processors or the software but I was running nearly identical software on two different computers and AMD came out on top as the more stable system.

Although I am an Intel person, I believe that AMD had the best processor until Intel released the C2D. That put AMD behind the curve and then they decided to buy ati, which further slowed developement. I think now, they are the ones playing catch up instead of Intel. coastie65
