It takes a special kind of arrogance for a company that sells Internet Access to team up with another company that sells Content Delivery and together decide what rights and responsibilities that the world's Internet users should have.
As in its earlier "deal" with BitTorrent, Inc., Comcast's announcement today doesn't change any of the facts it faces: in 2006, it assured Congress that network neutrality laws were not necessary, saying it would not "deny, delay, or degrade" its customers in order to deal with traffic congestion. Within a year it was caught secretly doing exactly that! Even after a long string of deceptive and deflective statements and tactics, Comcast continues to degrade their traffic today.
As was the case in the BitTorrent "deal," neither Comcast Corporation nor Pando Networks represents the millions of customers and other members of the Internet Community.
Next, we will see Comcast execs explaining why today's "deal" means the FCC can end its investigation

Before the earlier reports of Comcast throttling BitTorrent traffic with false reset packets became public knowledge I had noticed the phenomenon myself but didn't understand why I couldn't seed a torrent. Then when the "stuff" hit the fan (AP's tests and other reports verifying their deceit), they stopped and I was relatively happy. This article states of Comcast, "The service provider has since said it will stop doing so." Apparently they're being dishonest again. For the past couple of weeks the situation has returned and I am unable to seed a legitimate, legal torrent and I'm now relying upon using a VPN to get around Comcast's throttling. I'm not a "bandwidth hog" as Comcast would like everyone to believe. I limit my upload speed as well as only torrenting during the wee hours of the morning between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. The thing Comcast needs to understand is the fact that I could get two DSL connections for the same price I am paying for their single Internet access connection.

ImaPhake,
RIGHT ON.
IF cOMCAST OR ANY OTHER ISP CAN'T HANDLE THE TRAFFIC ,STRAIGHTEN OUT YOU NETWORK FIRST. AND, COMCAST, BUY THE WAY WHAT ARE MY EXSPECTATIONS FOR BANDWITH AND MB PER MONTH??? STANDARDS NEED TO HAVE A SOLID FOUNDATION THAT IS CLEAR TO EVERYONE INVOLVED. I DON'T BELIEVE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED THE SERVICE i AM ENTITLED TO. YOU, COMCAST, HAVE NEVER PROVIDE A CLEAR VENDOR/CLIENT POLICY CONCERNING THESE BASIC ISSUES.
SO,COMCAST, WHEN YOU GET YOUR HOUSE/NETWORK TOGETHER, LET'S TALK: APPLES TO APPLES. IF YOU'RE GOING TO LIMIT ANYTHING OR CHARGE ANY ONE INDIVIDUAL CLIENT HOME ACCOUNT, YOU NEED TO PROVIDE THE BASELINE ACCOUNT SERVICE THAT WE CAN EXSPECT FOR THE EXHORBITANT FEES YOU PRESENTLY CHARGE US FOR SO CALLED FULL SERVICE INTERNET ACCESS.
I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOU WHINING ABOUT HOW TOUGH YOU'VE GOT IT MAKING SERVICE NET NUETRAL AND KEEPING UP WITH EXSPECTED USER GROWTH, WHICH YOU DID'NT PROPERLY PUT IN YOUR LONG TERM BUSINESS PLAN'S!
