OK, i personally believe this is B.S. They sell us the ability to use high-speed internet, how we use our internet should be up to us. If we choose to use it watching youtube, that should be fine. If we choose to use it to download, that should be fine. They should not be able to limit what we can and can not do with the service they provide us. It is our bandwith we paid good money for and we should be able to do with it as we please.

And what about the rest of us who pay our monthly bills and use the internet the way we want to? It's one thing to stop reduce bandwidth but if I'm paying for a service, you had better NOT take away my bandwidth without a written consent form.

Will this affect users who already have contracts?

With the advent of Fiber, Comcast, Cox, etal have been behind the curve and they will continue to be behind the curve. As the Fiber system grows, and cable customers leave for greener pastures as Fiber becomes available, The cable companies will be relegated to second tier status. There is no way cable will ever be able to compete with Fiber, unless they upgrade from copper to Fiber and that isn't likely. They can promise higher speeds at astronomical prices, but with copper there will always be a bandwidth issue. coastie65

I was a long time user of cable provided by Insight. They were very proud of the fact that they were able to increase their download speed to 10Mb/s and the download did run 8 t0 10 Mb/s. Because of some business arrangement with Comcast, Comcast took over the Insight business. Immediately I noticed a drop off in download speed to 4 to 5 Mb/s. I called Comcast and got the usual run around. I am not impressed with Comcast.

when my internet would die when i tried to download uh, "certain files", i always had a sneaking suspicion that 'con'cast had something to do wiht it, but i just didn't want to believe it at first. then it kept happening, over and over and over again. i was cursing under my breath like: comcast what the * are you doing to my connection? when i eventually started seeing articles about comcast blocking p2p, my suspicions were immediately confirmed.
