Hey Deadly !!

I have been using IE7 on and off all day and have only one cookie to report
here are a few screenies from WinPatrol , which keeps track of cookies
in both Firefox and IE7.
And the cookies that WinPatrol keeps in storage for me to view and delete if I wish.

As you can see I only have ONE cookie in the jar after surfing all day.

BTW, I have IE7 to NOT keep cookies in storage the same as firefox deletes

your tracks after a session.

Deadlyassasin - this community is dedicated to helping all people who may have a problem with their equipment or systems. Part of this is making sure that all feel welcome to this site and from the beginning it was dedicated to that premise. Thus, personal insults, put-downs and name calling are definitely out of bounds. No one sits around scanning or perusing the site. There's a good group of regular members who do spend a fair amount of time perusing postings. In addition we also get e-mails with the text content of any discussion we have posted to (unless we opt out) making it very easy to keep up with the threads without actually logging into the site.

We also never deride the choices any member makes in equipment or software. If someone wants to use a slow, ineffective, buggy application that leaves me open to threats, thats their choice, and it is not our right to ridicule them or their choice. It is very easy to slap down an insult in a post, sometimes so easy you don't even realize you have hurt their feelings. You must remember that this community is also part of a commercial publishing enterprise so if someone is upset and leaves, the magazine may also suffer.

Some forums relish flame wars, but many are getting away from them, and they have never been tolerated here. I have been around long enough to have seen some come in that did not fully realize why this community is unique and started off on the wrong foot. Many of them disappear after a while, but some have stuck around and have become valued regular members after realizing what the rules are. Everyone has something to offer, and many times we disagree on something, but if we stray from civil discourse then the hurtful and unnesssary "flame" comments get in the way of your message, as people turn it off and all they remember is the slam.

again anyone who is hurt by what others say online needs a life. they take life way too seriously. also from what ive seen a lot of editors seem to use other people's suggestions rather then do anything original.

so basically were here to suggest to editors products and other things for them to rip off and use in articles without mentioning where the suggestion came from and them having no intent on testing a product before the masses know about it 1st. yes great magazine, very little original material. its funny though that i seem to be the only one to catch on to the fact these editors refuse to suggest or try a product themselves until others suggest it 1st or has been used in the mainstream already. always thought using a magazine is to learn new stuff not stuff we already know

Personally, I come here for reliable information on a particular subject, not to wade through tons of off-the-subject posts. I hope the personal issues are taken elsewhere soon; it is a waste of my time, and that of others I am sure, to wade through them to receive the information I am trying to find. There are lots of other internet sites on which to post flames. Please find them and use them.

For those people who are not computer techies, and I know many of them, is Firefox 3 reliable enough now to be downloaded and installed or are there still a few bugs to avoid?

Hey Justenuf!!

Welcome to PCWorld Community!

Yes , I must agree , that these issues are getting in the way at times.

Now , to answer your query, yes Firefox 3 is Very stable , and faster and ready to download and use.

The only problem you might encounter is the Add-ons or plug-ins. If you are used to certain Add-ons

you might want to verify that what you are using is still working in FF3. Other than that, this is a very

good version of Firefox.

and fact remains anyone who is hurt by flaming or any other kinda arguement online needs a life. they take life way too seriously for their own good. btw i actually didnt start this whole mess the other did. didnt like what i had to say, argued with me then fled when it argument didnt favor him. i didnt start it im just better at finishing things. so you wanna get on someone get on the one who started it ... get on the one who told me i didnt know what the hell i was talking about even though ive used a product longer then him. i will finish every argument, dont start shit with me unless your gonna see it to the end. he knew the rules didnt care until i made him look bad. this is how everyone is with me. they start shit, look bad, then flee when their over their heads which i find funny.

i wanna see if ie 8 final release will be able to do even 4 million in a day's time. last time it took ie a week to do 2-4 million with ie7 final release and so far beta 1 hasnt offered enough in new features to make ppl feel like going back to it.

and nice to see you flashorn. ive tested some new products and moved malwarebytes to top 3. i still dont see it being better than superantispyware though at least not yet.

did everyone read the article about the cake the ie team sent to the mozilla company> they were so cocky the cake said something like "congrats on the release of firefox 3". they proclaimed firefox 3 wouldnt even get 2 million downloads in a day's time. now ie 8 final will need to do 8 + million in a day just to save face which ie has never done in its whole lifetime. this could be signs by the release of firefox 6 or earlier, that firefox owns the majority of the browser market.

I've been a Firefox fan for quite some time now. One of my daughters was listening to me gripe about IE always crashing and suggested I try Firefox. Once I gave it a try IE took the backseat. Firefox has numorous skins which are all free. And Adblock Plus makes the web much more fun.

The main selling point for me is the fact that Firefox rarely crashes. Once a month maybe. While the one in the number one spot crashes at least every other day.

btw anyone who thinks they have to have ie to go on ie only sites are wrong. firefox users can completely let go of ie thanks to one of their amazing add-ons called IE Tab which allows ie to run within firefox on ie only sites.
