Well, It's pretty common knowledge that the computer manufacturers are paid to put that "bloatware" in there. I do agree to some extent, in that I would like to have MY choice of operating system and not have that decision usurped by Microsoft or anyone else. It does bring up one question though, What would happen to the consumer price for a computer without the bloatware and the fees paid to the manufacturers? Do the fees act as a subsidy of sorts, thus keeping the cost down to the consumer? When you look at sites such as AJUMP.com it makes you wonder as the prices seem reasonable although in the case of AJUMP, it is a bare bones deal. coastie65
