The DIFFERENCE for those of us who DON'T use a Tivo is this:
We paid NOTHING up front to get our DVR.
We pay $4/month LESS for subscription.
We get in-home repair or replacement at no extra charge if our DVR is faulty.
We get tons of free on-demand shows from the tuner part of the DVR.
We can request and get the latest model at no extra cost when it comes out.
We get 40 hours of HD recording, plus record 2 channels at once, excellent slow-motion, plus 30-second skip which is good enough for most of us.

Hello, Dan,
I really enjoyed reading your Gadget Freak tonight.
I do have a question though: why is this the last time you're writing this Blog? are you living voluntarily, or is there something else happening?????
Thank you for the StarTrek similarities,BTW, it made me smile remembering my most favorite show in the whole history of the world!
