This isn't exactly a new idea. It's already been implemented, though in a different way by ChaCha.com which answers questions asked by voice by real people. It's slower but sounds more reliable than using software.

There is also Fonix speech recognition (in seven languages) that works on iPhone and will do the same thing only better.
The software costs 14.95 and is avail from Fonix.

This is a great application, however, the contact search does not work. Even though the search contacts feature is turned on in settings, it never searches contacts.
The other Google searches, including calculations, definiitions, conversions, etc. work great.
