Did I miss something in this article? Western Digital has been advertising a 500GB "My Passport" drive for several weeks now. Unless they are using the Toshiba drive that's not available, I think WD may have been the one to "Set High Storage Capacity" for 2.5" drives.

A quick check on Pricewatch reveals Samsung, Seagate, WD, and Hitachi all have 500GB 2.5" drives.

I don't recall when the other manufactures released their drives, but a quick search on google shows that Samsung released theirs 11 months ago...Toshiba is way behind on this release.

LOL yes the headline grabbed me too, I thought Toshiba was releasing 500 GB per platter, resulting in a 1 TB 2.5" drive! LOL
