1) "Intel's Core i7 processor for gaming systems" WTF? Is there some sub-category of Core i7's?
2) Does the author have any technical knowledge at all?
3) I could be wrong, but I know current Phenoms have a 6MB L3 cache. I doubt the next gen will have 8MB. Maybe this is a copy from Core i7's 8MB L3 cache?
4) (DDR3) is a new "form" of memory? I think the word is "type." CPU's "access" memory, the 2 do not "communicate."
5) It took a "principal analyst" from "Insight 64" to tell you that faster memory access "could" boost system performance??

I will put you in your place in a minute.
1) There are core i7 extreme processors and normal core i7 processors. they are both desktop processors with one geared for extreme performance like games, etc. So Yes, there are some sub-categories of Core i7's.
2) what makes you reach this conclusion? Only proves that its a desperate attempt by you to discredit the author.
3) You are Wrong, current phenoms have only 2MB of L3 cache. And calling it a copy from i7? How stupid can you get? Have you missed the fact that intel just copied an entire spy design from AMD. And you wanna tell me that an 8MB cache that was declared a long time back by AMD for the new CPU's is a copy? GROW UP !!!!
4) A stupid point again. The control unit in the processor DOES communicate with the ALU and primary memory.
5) The author is only reiterating a valid point. It does not make him wrong or right, he's only reminding the readers of the product's capability.
I'm pretty sure u're not gonna come back and read this rebuttal, but you sir are an Intel fanboy.

Awesome article, I want Phenom II like NOW, Intel is too expensive for my budget and the only i7 compatible motherboards are all over $200 >.<'
Great article btw.
