This is the most uninteresting Black Friday I've seen in my 6 or 7 years of doing BF. There's nothing worth going out for this year. I'll be scouring the internet this year hoping to find a surprise.

Both PC World and Yahoo like Office Depot's HP laptop for $350. It has 3GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive. Does anyone know what processor it has? I think it's a Pentium dual core. In contrast, Best Buy has a Toshiba for $380 with an AMD Turion 64 X2 processor, 3GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive. Isn't the AMD processor better, making the BB Toshiba a better deal?

On the other hand Best Buy has limited quantities and you have to get up earlier. Would you wake up at, say, 3:00 to get a ticket for the Toshiba at BB? Does anyone know how many bargain PCs the average Office Depot stocks?

Where can I get that $5 mouse on page 13? I couldn't find any at that price.

Hey Number, This morning's paper resembled a Sunday paper with all the inserts. Office depot did have it for $4.99 with a catch 22. $39.99 with an instant $10 off for an in store price of $29.99 and then a $25 mail-in rebate. coastie

Aargh. I didn't see the fine print on the leaked ad. Thanks for the clarification, coastie.

Do a search on HP G50-112NR and you get no hits. That's not a valid HP model number.

As much as the HP and Toshiba laptops intrigued me, my wife and I decided to purchase from Dell instead. Core 2 Duo instead of Pentium dual-core, and it was almost the same cost!
