In what sense is it an upgrade when they disabled the phishing feature?

Upgrade to FF3, then you don't have to worry.

I have versions 3, but what about those with version 2? Why would they update 2 when it cuts a feature?

Then they will just have to update to 3, and not lag around with 2. 3 is SOOOOO much better.
