from what i have been reading here it seems that the wii may be a good competitor for the pc

i am not saying its bad

this will get people to think about adding a motion sensor to there computer and trying it out

with this in mind new monitor type may be built. 1 with a motion bar inbedded but that maybe a bad thing

just because the monitor is too small so later (when there is a newer version of the wii maby) there will be motion bars in tv's witch hook up to comuters

then a new mouse wouldent bee your adverage mouse but look a little different

it may look like the wiimote (left click being A or B because they both work an right click being the oposite of the other click)

so later in the future mice may be out dated with a motion controler and monitors with tv's and tv's may end up looking like the wall from Fahrenheit 451 (book)

"games running at resolutions of 3840x2400?oh ya i could see how the average pc gamer can afford to run their games at that resolution."
Give it a few years and let the advances in technology take care of your concern(s)
Also, I dont believe this was mentioned in the article but a desktop computer is a very easy process to upgrade (CPU, MEM, HDD, and graphics/sound cards) as long as one has the proper knowledge and compatibility with the OS. Try an upgrade on a console (oops I forgot, they dont sell upgrades just new PS4(s). HA HA good luck on this one console lovers
Finally, emulation is a great way to bring back classic gaming (some of the best games were made long before XBox 360 and PS3 was made (such as Zelda OOT)

Okay, cool. So Test Drive Unlimited can't find binkw32.dll on either Vista or XP. It's there. The recommended solution doesn't work. I'm dubious about the crash statistics, and I'm not talking about cars hitting walls. :Important note: this shouldn't be interpreted as some sort of inane personal attack.

To be honest, I didn't have the patience to read all the comments so this may be a dup.

For me a prime reason for PC-gaming is that I already have a PC. No need to lay out hudreds of dollars for a console.

What I like about the PC is that I can play games that 10 years old on whatever computer I am using. Backwards compatibility on the consoles is a crap shoot at best.

I also like that I can build my PC to suit my needs instead of getting whatever someone else chooses to throw in a box.

I myself have stopped buying consoles. My wife bought me a Wii last year for Christmas, and just...ehh...I am back on my PC shooting bad guys and saving the world.
1 fight to the story...
How many Play Stations are there?
How many Xbox's are there?
How many PC's?

All i have to do to keep up with times is make sure my video card is up do date and i have enough ram.
At least I dont have 4 old consoles sitting in my closet collecting dust from yesteryear's.
Once a PC gamer, always a PC gamer

Oh yea. A keyboard and mouse beat all every day and twice on Sunday. I own a Wii, PS3, and an X-BOX 360 elite. They don't compare to my desktop computer. Heck, even my laptop is a better gaming machine than any console. In my not so humble opinion, the Wii controller is the LEAST ACCURATE and SLOWEST of the lot. The plus side of the Wii controller is that It is great for vague and 'easy' gaming with a group of people of all ages and skill levels (and has some CUTE accessories). But those accessories (steering wheel, gun, etc.) feel like toys, are overpriced, and are NO WHERE NEAR as accurate as a mouse. If you HAVE to have someting for your game that is more representative of real life (like an airplane yoke and rudder pedals), the options offered for a PC are far more realistic than the aftermarket toys offered by Wii.

But for any given game (assuming that the programing will accept input from both types of controlls) I guarantee that if I use a Kbd/Mouse, and you use a Wii controller, I will pown you.

In love with the intuitive nature of the Wii remote? Don't care about the comparatively HUGE inacuracy? Try www.houseofnintendo.com/50226711/use[uthe[/u]wiiremotetocontrolyour_pc.php] and plug that innovative controller into a REAL gaming machine.

Your PC.

While preference plays a big part in this, I agree with the article 90%.
FPS games, for example, simply can NOT be enjoyed with a console controller. Then again, sports games are often better with a controller, nowadays more than ever due to newly found use for the "stick".
The one point no one can argue is that PC's - unlike consoles - have other uses besides gaming. I've got a comp that cost me 700€ five years ago - and since then I've made upgrades with about 300€. I still very effectively use photoshop, video editing software (we're talking full blown pro software too - not movie maker). All this while listening to music from my ~200gb library of music or one of the MANY web radios.
I could go on too but I don't see the point. If you like consoles then that's what you need. If it's PC's then that.
Several of my friends bought PS3's. They fire 'em up once or twice a week, while comps are usually running 24/7.
Wii is arguably the best thing to hit the gaming market in a long time - but while it is fun indeed the motion detection is still very sloppy and un-precise - source for great amounts of hair loss.
Last console I bought was PS2 and the next one I'll buy might very well be Wii - But first I'd need a TV, which I gave away several years ago. I have a comp and a fast internet connection - What else do I need?
