Absolutely not , You don't need to nor reason to upgrade to Wds Vista "Do I use the word right ..? some consider downgrade .."

But if you buy a new pc with Wds Vista pre- installed ...... You "Should NOT" ......I repeat .......You should not roll back to XP. ... .

"You'll like ..... I guarantee it "....... LOL......

So, do you think it's bug-ridden

I think they may have worked through a lot of the stuff, but it is probably dead anyway, with Win7 coming. From my standpoint and usage, the only possible upgrade I could think of, would be if they have come out with XP MCE in a 64 bit version. They sandbagged it in favor of Vista as Media Center was one of the focal points for that OS. There is at least one flavor of XP in a 64 bit version ( XP Pro ), they should have just cooncentrated on upgrading all to 64 bit as most processors today are 64 bit capable. coastie

XP was the Windows version that cemented Microsoft as the absolute titan of computer operating systems. Recently, many issues keep on arising regarding the end of mainstream support for windows XP this April 2009. In addition to this, Microsoft divides support for Business and Developer products (including the Windows XP operating system) into two distinct timeframes: Mainstream Support and Extended Support. Briefly, Mainstream Support provides both consumers and enterprise customers with a full offering of support including complimentary support, design change requests, security updates, and other kinds of updates for the product while the Extended Support does alter the range of support a bit, but for the vast majority of customers the essential core remains the same.
