I wonder how much of that medical information Google keeps for itself.

The benefit to accomplishing universal e-health record implementation are significant in driving more efficient, less expensive and more effective healthcare. However, considering the complexities involved, successfully migrating the entire country to a government-based e-health system within 4-5 years is probably not realistic. At checkMD, we’re telling patients not to WAIT for the government to do something for them; that they can already do for themselves. Consumers need to take control of their own healthcare now by getting involved online, becoming more informed and ultimately taking more responsibility for their own healthcare outcomes. This would include taking control of one’s own health records by putting them online (Microsoft’s “HealthVault” or Google Health might be good places to start) and essentially creating a better healthcare system one individual at a time – until the government can implement an initiative of this size. As we each get involved in the online healthcare movement, we truly are People Healing Healthcare.

You've seen what the IRS does with its victims' information when it goes online. Wait until all health records go online. Keep the government out of the way.
