Is there a reason the article ignores where Intel is regarding DDR3 support? Adding a little more context regarding what the other big CPU-maker does would give the story a bit more balance rather than seeming to be told in a vaccuum.

The Intel Core i7 CPUs support only DDR3 and require new motherboards with updated chipsets and CPU sockets.

I have been testing the new AM3 Phenom's and encountered the memory down-clocking issue reported, however overall the performance vs power consumption is phenomenal! Take a look here:
