5 Reasons the Apple IPhone Beats the Amazon Kindle

There are at least five reasons why this article is a complete waste of my time:
1) It compares 2 products that are in different market segments.
2) The author didn't even use a kindle? Are you effing kidding me?!?!
3) Owning an iPhone costs a lot more than owning a Kindle. This article doesn't even address the total cost of ownership.
4) The article doesn't address battery life. This is yet another glaring omission.
5) I suspect Rick owns Apple stock.

I seriously had to create a log in just say this is the worst piece of crap I've ever read. The 'journalist' needs to be fired for even attempting to compare a device to something he hasn't even used.
If I see an article on Google News by PCWorld.com, I'm not clicking it again. It's obvious they don't hire competent writers.

I also created my login just to comment on how useless the article was. I'm not sure why someone would want to compare an iPhone to a Kindle. They're two totally different devices. The author, admitting that he's never even used one, compares it to features on an iPhone that don't apply to it. And not only that, he brings up features for the iPhone that not only don't exist, but that he "guesses" will probably exist someday (Reason 5). The article comes across as nothing more than Kindle bashing and Apple fandom.

I also created my login just to comment on the quality of this article. As everyone here, I feel annoyed by this article, it really makes me wonder about the quality, name and credibility of the magazine and its website. Somebody should ban this guy from publishing again.

Yes, I agree this article is poorly written. Yes, it comes across as being written by a snarky fanboy. And yes, you will never get the 45 seconds it took to read the article back.
However, it's unfair to judge an author by a single article. I've listed several other articles you should read before drawing any conclusions.
5 Reasons the Apple iPhone Beats a Degree in Journalism
5 Reasons the Apple iPhone Beats a Girlfriend/Boyfriend
5 Reasons the Apple iPhone Beats the Space Shuttle
5 Reasons the Apple iPhone Makes Me Better, Smarter and More Attractive
5 Reasons the Apple iPhone Couldn't Get Me An Internship at MacWorld

This sentence basically invalidates this article:
"Confession: I've never actually used one"
Come one, there is nothing to write any more? No real news and reviews? Honestly, who cares about an author comparing products if he hasn't used one them? This is probably the worst piece of journalism I have read in a long time. It should be removed and author reassigned to some more appropriate tasks, like snailmail sorting, for instance....

Amazon dropped both the SD slot and a replaceable battery in its latest iteration, the latter being one of the biggest criticisms launced against the iPhone and the iPod touch. Fact is, with Apple's products, you can have the battery replaced at several reputable onlince sources for less than twenty bucks, and have it back in less than 48 hours.

It's true they dropped the SD slot, but they increased the internal storage so it takes longer to fill your Kindle even with subscriptions. And since it looks like a USB drive when you plug it into your laptop or desktop, pulling old stuff off is pretty easy. Which isn't to say I wouldn't like a nicer interface to do that... if Kindle keeps growing I suppose the independent developers will give us something.
I liked the swappable battery too, but since they've gone to mini USB now for charging as well as data, I can use my existing Kensington charge boosters as well as any mini USB car or wall adapter to keep it topped up.

5 reasons why my Magic Chef Microwave Oven beats the Apple iphone.
1. It takes less time to nuke my hotpockets in my microwave than putting them on top of the iphone.
2. The numbered buttons are bigger on my microwave.
3. The clock display in my microwave can count backwards.
4. My dog cannot chew on my microwave.
5. My microwave is not tied to a single carrier.
Disclaimer: I've never used an iphone as a microwave device before, but I guess I'm smart enough to write an article for pcworld.

This article has been removed by somebody at PC world and reposted as "5 reasons the apple iphone Trumps the amazon kindle". http://www.pcworld.c...cle/159244/fivereasonstheiphonetrumpsthekindle.html
I wonder if this is a common practice at PCWorld, to attempt to silence those with a negative opinion.
