A friend of mine got his account and all his content on FaceBook he worked
for many days deleted. I've known this guy for many years a totally honest guy
and apparently irritated FaceBook. His content was religious in nature, is it
possible that there is no democracy in the FaceBook world? This reminds me of
the censorship in the communist countries. Read more:

Users on all internet sites need to be able to choose the level of privacy which best suits their information and personal privacy needs.
See my Google Tech Talk on this subject at:

I would appreciate any feedback and please share with others who are concerned with privacy issues. Let me know if you want the .pdf file.

This is rich. Look, if you post things to a wide-open free-for-all site like Facebook, and you get upset that they reuse, copy, and otherwise take advantage of your
material, you are a darn fool. Anybody who posts their data to a site like that and expects to retain control or privacy is a ninny.
"Terms of Service".... This cracks me up. How 'bout this for "terms of service":
"Once I post something to Facebook, a million people might read it, edit it, copy it, or repost it. They can use it to make a total fool of me,
find out where I live, attack my family, or otherwise ruin my life, and there is no way I can stop it. They could steal a brilliant piece of
artwork or music I post there, rip it off and use it as their own, and there isn't a darn thing I can do to stop it if I'm stupid enough to do that
without copyrighting it first. Putting something on Facebook is effectively giving it away to the whole world."

My account got deleted as well. I had it for about a year and had tons of photos posted on it. I'm an event promoter and had fans, friends and colleagues of a weekly fundraising event that I've been producing here in New York in the LGBT community for four years. About three weeks ago my account was disabled for "erotic" content (go go boys playing Bingo is erotic content?) which is odd because I've seen much MUCH 'worse' on Facebook than that (all out porn and what some would call 'foul language') and those profiles aren't deleted. On the other hand, I have heard of a drag performer friend of mine and an openly bi-sexual singer who both got their accounts deleted too.. so there's something up. When I emailed FB they gave me a 'you violated tos' which of course begged the question "which" terms of service they were referring to..... when I called FB corporate headquarters to talk to someone I got a woman who was pretty snide and told me that the decision was final and once your account is deleted, it's deleted, no warning, no second chance, no opportunity to change info on the page.
Whomever said that it's an oligarchy was right...... if you all believe FB is a democracy, you're only fooling yourself.
