Although I own a PSP, PS2, PS3 and and XBOX360, my primary platform is a duo core PC system with a fast video card, sound card and a thrift store lounge chair with built in speakers and a subwoofer bolted to the wooden frame. Very awsome effects and a real seat of the pants experience when sitting in front of a 22 inch widescreen LCD display. I also have to add in the Wii too, but my daughter won't let anyone else near it so I don't count it in my tally.

I don't own any games-only hardware. I can play all the games I wish to on my PC. This has been true for the past 25 years, and I see no reason why this would change in the future.

Edit: Come to think of it, the game I play the most isn't even available on any of the handheld or console gaming systems (World of Warcraft).

JimH443 is right about what he said.

I bounce between the PC, PS2, & PS3, depending on what I am in the mood to play at the time. coastie65

The Xbox (original) cured me of thinking consoles were a good way to go; or, more accurately, Microsoft's handling of the transistion for the old black Xbox to the Xbox 360 cured me. When they stopped policing Xbox Liv and let the "griefers" take over, when they effectively dropped support for all of the owners of the original system, they convinced me that running PC games (under wine, on linux) is the only smart way to go. World of Warcraft won't be ported to consoles, and that's dandy; and it runs just great without either a Mac or Windows.

I'd like to make a correction. A Mac is not a games system, it's a video editing music playing waste of money.

I am a teacher, and an avid gamer, so I often talk with the kids about what consoles and games they are playing. THe top dog at least here in Northern NJ is the 360 and the Wii, followed by the PS2 and PS3. Many also play PC games but not exclusively.

Here in India, PC gaming is the most dominant. PS2 is popular as well and PS3 is slowly coming up. Xbox 360 is too costly. Mobile gaming is the winner in handheld category. Hey this article doesnt talk of N-gage 2.0! Its a good platform though cannot boast huge numbers ( the latest Symbian phones from Nokia support it, so the potential is there)
