Make Folders Open in New Windows

Again, I'm a die-hard one window, one purpose. Often times I find myself 10 levels deep in a directory hunting source code, videos, mp3s, or whatever. If I keep navigating `off course`, and then need to get back `on course`, I have 30+ open windows I need to hunt through. It hurts the brain.
For me, I find it much quicker to open one window via My Computer, get where I need to be, then open up another window via My Computer (With double-clicks on the mouse) get where I need to be, then copy/move what I need to do. Another method, if I feel like using just the keyboard, is hit START> RUN> then start typing my path, press DOWN ARROW when the directory I want shows up, then start the next directory, and so on. Press ENTER and up comes up the window I want.

I use my mouse program for this, too. When using my five-button mouse, I set one of the buttons to close whichever window I hover over so that I can close the numerous windows quickly while keeping the convenience of having access to multiple folders at once.

Rick, thanks for this post. I can definitely see the value in implementing your suggestion, however it seems to me that if you're one to spend a lot of time navigating through Windows Explorer, it wouldn't be long before you'd have a ridiculous amount of windows open using the tactic you've suggested. Personally, that would hinder productivity rather than enhancing it.
Instead, you might have also suggested that for the person who likes to control whether or not to open a folder in a new window on a per-folder basis, all they'd have to do is right-click the folder and select Explore... from the context menu. Or am I missing the point of your post?
