mpheadley, I'm not sure what your talking about.
My Gmail address works for the msn network and yahoo network; everything except their mail services.
And when I used to have hotmail (I quit it because it was slow) my hotmail address served my Google account-- everything except their mail services.
When you sign up for a network account, just put in your @hotmail account. You don't need an @yahoo to use yahoo's network, and I promise they won't get mad at you. They ask you for your email address, not if you have a yahoo specific email address.

Yeah, I'm mainly talking about services with yahoo and other non-search engine brands I guess. You're right about google.
But my hotmail address is hooked up with general yahoo network, and since I wanted to use a different title with my flickr account other than my email name and my yahoo network username, I had to create an entirely new email address through yahoo. In that way, Flickr doesn't let you choose a name for your Flickr site other than your email address or yahoo user name.
And I'm sure there's many more examples of all the random web sites through the years. And also, a ton of social networking sites also employ their own web based emai, even though it's attached to your email account.

Umm, warmbreath, Outlook Express is a mail client. It only works when you tell it to get mail from a specific location. I have mine set up to get mail from several different accounts. What that says about you is that you took the time to organize your e-mail in a more efficient manner. JMO.

I wanted to check into this since I have hotmail. It's an option you can turn off. When you go into the option, here is a cut and paste (hopefully it won't change my own personal settings, ha!):

Personally, I like the "Today page" as I have kids and don't often get to see the TV news on a regular basis and learn about some of the weird or secondary national news.

Hi Im from Philippines. Im using an Old PC Pentium 3 256 MB 20 G Hard drive and it works flawlessly with my XP/Firefox/Gmail/Avi Files/DVD/Mp3/YM/Friendster/Tomshardware/Torrentz/Frostwire and PC World since I bought this 5 years ago, Though I had this reformatted last January 2008.
I inquired How much is a MAC PC last december and I see its so expensive for me. So is there anyway I can have a @mac Email? hehehehe

The whole family uses their Comcast e-mail address as their primary one and use their mail program instead of outlook or express because we have so many users on a single machine but without individual logons. This makes the unit faster and then they are free to use any other they choose. Some have MSN, Gmail, hotmail and I still use my old Excite address. Some have multiple user names and correlate them to different e-mail addresses. I have enough problem with passwords and don't need any more that a couple of addresses. I use one for my personal and professional contacts and others for downloads, updates and news streams. Just like using different versions of my name, initials and nick names for subscriptions, I do the same withusers names and e-mail addresses to track the originatators of spam and phishing attempts.

Sometimes Outlook can help. It can do lots of custom rules and filters etc. that can help organize stuff. You can then just use one email instead of having to log on and remeber passwords all the time. You can forward your web mails to like "comcast" and POP all of them. And if one webmail gets too crazy, you can always stop it's forwarding. There are quite a few features in Outlook, probably more than you will ever find out, but you just have to poke through the menu's and play with it and you will figure out all these tricks. And the other good thing about Outlook is that there are all these plugins to it too enhance tayloredl use. Of course you have to find them.
